College recognizes teachers with top evaluation scores
The College of Engineering recognizes faculty, lecturers and other staff for their outstanding dedication to teaching Boilermaker Engineers.
Fall 2020 introduced new teacher evaluation survey questions, including 10 quantitative questions regarding instruction, on a 5-point scale. To earn this recognition, instructors must be ranked in the 75th or higher percentile based on teacher survey questions. Rankings are grouped by semester.

For this recognition, individual teacher averages were calculated based on six CIE teacher evaluation survey questions related to instructor effectiveness on a 5-point scale in undergraduate or graduate classes taught in Engineering with enrollments of 10 and above and 50% or higher response rates. Courses were divided into four groups - small, medium, large, and very large – with class sizes corresponding to each quartile of enrollment size distribution. Instructors with 75 percentile or higher instructor evaluation scores in each group are recognized for the spring 2022 and fall 2022 semesters.
