NASA selects Purdue to lead new space habitat research institute

New Purdue institute researching what living environments require on other planets. The Resilient ExtraTerrestrial Habitats Institute is working to ensure that the first long-term settlement on other planetary bodies are safe from hazards such as a meteoroid colliding with the moon or violent sandstorms on Mars.

Google's Cerf: Equal parts humor, tech in Purdue talk

Internet pioneer and Google leader Vint Cerf spoke at Purdue’s College of Engineering recently on the topic of “What IF Machines Thought Like Humans.” Cerf, who is internationally regarded as the Father of the Internet, spoke about Artificial Intelligence (AI) and told those in attendance that computer scientists need to be more responsible in designing AI systems as the systems become more ubiquitous in our lives.

Tamara Kinzer-Ursem and Jacqueline Linnes were named Marta E. Gross Assistant Professors of Biomedical Engineering through the Purdue College of Engineering's Rising Star program. The Rising Star Program recognizes assistant and associate professors for their exceptional accomplishments and leadership in research, teaching, and engagement.
