Jan-Anders Mansson, distinguished professor of Materials and Chemical Engineering

Sutherland will assume the leadership role of a critically important College of Engineering initiative, and Mansson will share the Co-Executive Director role of IN-MaC with Nathan Hartman, Dauch Family Professor, Director of the Product Lifecycle Management Center, and Interim Head of Computer Graphics Technology, Purdue Polytechnic Institute.

IN-MaC is a partnership between Purdue University, Vincennes University and Ivy Tech College that catalyzes the development of advanced technologies to move industry forward, facilitates the implementation of advanced technologies that make Indiana more competitive, and collaborates with educators and stakeholders across the state to enhance the skills of Indiana’s present and future manufacturing workforce.

Mansson’s research is focused on novel cost-effective materials and manufacturing methods as well as unique additional functionalities that are beyond the classical performance characteristics of composite materials. This research has led to more than 600 scientific publications and a variety of patents and patent applications. “I have always had a desire in my professional life to support local industry’s access to the fantastic resources of our universities. IN-MaC is a great vehicle to do just that,” Mansson said.

IN-MaC is jointly led by the College of Engineering and Purdue Polytechnic Institute.
