Moons of Mars: New theory for their past and future
As soon as the moons of Mars were discovered by the American astronomer Asaph Hall in 1877, scientific curiosity went into overdrive to answer the age-old question that drives children and scientists alike: Why? EAPS/College of Science’s David Minton developed a new hypothesis for the origin and evolution of the moons of Mars.

AAE's Collicott will join experiment on Virgin Galactic suborbital flight
Steven Collicott was selected to receive an award by NASA's Flight Opportunities program giving him the chance to fly into suborbital space and back on a Virgin Galactic craft while conducting a zero-gravity experiment.

AAE's Howell, Frueh develop 'dashboard' to keep tabs on cislunar space
Kathleen Howell and Carolin Frueh are working with Rhea Space Activity on a U.S. Air Force contract to develop software that can monitor and predict trajectories — essentially, a space dashboard, a 3D space situational awareness portal to track objects and analyze data.

Purdue partners with U.S. Navy to expand opportunities for underrepresented minorities in STEM
The proposed program, called Blue Integrated Partnerships (BIP), has received a $2.8 million grant from ONR’s Mission Capable, Persistent and Survivable Platforms Department. Luciano Castillo, Purdue’s Kenninger Professor of Renewable Energy and Power Systems in Mechanical Engineering, is the program’s principal investigator.
