ENE Research Seminar: Computational Thinking for Engineers in the AI Era

Noemi Mendoza Diaz from Texas A&M presents scalable, language-agnostic teaching strategies that support learning in classrooms of any size while grounding essential AI and machine learning competencies. ENE Research Seminar: Developing Undergraduate Engineering Student Self-Efficacy Toward Design

Join us for a seminar with Sharon Miller, Associate Professor of Engineering Practice in the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering and Assistant Vice Provost for Purdue University in Indianapolis, as she explores how embedding team-based biomedical design projects across three consecutive years of an undergraduate curriculum impacts student self-efficacy. Dr. Miller will share insights into how continuous exposure to real-world design—and experiences beyond the classroom like clinical immersion—can strengthen students’ belief in their ability to succeed.

Second Annual Tech Summit at Computer History Museum

The first annual Purdue Engineering Bay Area Tech Summit featured an engaging fireside chat with DJ Patil and sessions highlighting cutting-edge innovation. Discussions covered AI with insights from academia and industry leaders at Amazon and d-Matrix; advances in soft robotics; and a cybersecurity panel with experts from Securiti, Purdue, and venture capital. Additional sessions explored the intersection of AI and pharmaceuticals, followed by deep dives into quantum technologies through a panel with PsiQuantum, Infleqtion, and Purdue faculty. The program showcased how Purdue’s faculty and alums and strong network of industry leaders are paving the way of the future.
