Abstract

Semiconductors are headline news today, given ongoing geopolitical tensions and the criticality of the technology that underpins almost everything in our lives today. Known to be one of the most innovative, demanding, and high-growth industries, semiconductors have a bright future ahead.

This highly interactive lecture will provide an overview of trends and opportunities for this demanding industry and a general overview of the semiconductor manufacturing process.

Biography

David H. Li is recently retired as the President and CEO and director of Cabot Microelectronics Corporation (CMC) Materials, a global materials supplier to the semiconductor industry. Before assuming this role in 2015, Mr. Li served as Vice President of the Asia Pacific Region for the company for 7 years. Prior to that, he held various senior leadership and management positions since he joined the company in 1997, including regional and product line management, operations, supply chain, and investor relations.

Mr. Li earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from Northwestern University.
