Quantum for Science, Technology and Beyond

Hosted by the College of Engineering and College of Science

The recent breakthroughs in quantum science have opened doors to another dimension, and it has also shaken the very foundations of how we interpret the world around us and how we study it. This panel will discuss a broad notion of quantum information science, the scientific field underpinning the ongoing race to develop practical devices and techniques that leverage quantum principles to achieve breakthroughs in computing, communications and cryptography. The panelists will discuss theory and experimental measurements that underline the distinction between the quantum and classical worlds, the foundations of quantum computation and quantum communication and the future ahead.
