National Defense Relevant Research at Universities: approaches to conducting the research and important technology topics for university research

Abstract:
Dr. Mark Lewis' PEDLS lecture will address several technologies that are critical to maintaining the security of the United States. University research can contribute to the development of these technologies. Following Dr. Lewis’ lecture, several Purdue faculty members will join him in a panel that will discuss different approaches to conducting national defense-related research at a university, will touch on examples of how university research flows into defense technology development, and will delve into research topics the panelists see where universities can make an important difference to advance defense technologies.
