Curious about engineering paths that don’t fit neatly into one box? Join MDESS at the Multidisciplinary Engineering Open House to explore how Multidisciplinary Engineering (MDE) blends engineering with other fields—or multiple engineering disciplines—into unique, flexible concentrations. Chat casually with seniors, browse poster-style displays, ask questions, and discover where MDE can take you. Come by anytime, grab a snack, and see how intersectional engineering could shape your future.

The Multidisciplinary Engineering Student Society (MDESS) is hosting an open house to showcase the Multidisciplinary Engineering (MDE) program, which is an intersectional field, bringing together engineering and other areas of study (non-engineering knowledge), or combining multiple areas of engineering in a unique way that are currently not being served by a traditional field of engineering.

The event will follow a research poster session or club-fair format, where senior students represent select MDE concentrations—General, Acoustical, Theatre, Visual Design, Humanitarian, and Engineering Management—through visual displays highlighting coursework, extracurricular involvement, internships, and post-graduation paths. Current MDE students and First-Year Engineering students are encouraged to ask questions and explore opportunities. Attendees are free to arrive and leave at any time. Light snacks will be provided.
