Forging Partnerships and Envisioning Tomorrow: Innovative Collaborations to Advance US Semiconductor Manufacturing

How can the United States maintain competitiveness in semiconductor manufacturing? What role can partnerships between universities, industry, and national laboratories play in responding to the critical talent shortage? What if we worked together to solve supply chain puzzles, keep pace with rapid technological advancements, or manage environmental impacts?

As the birthplace of NSBE, Purdue has a long tradition of building a better world together. Addressing challenges in energy, climate, health, food, mobility, and more will require faster computing, more data, and quicker communication, each of which is enabled by semiconductor technology. Moreover, we know that rising to this challenge is crucial to the nation’s security and our shared economic prosperity. That’s why we seek innovative partnerships that will take a “whole of nation” approach to reinvigorating the US semiconductor industry.

Before passing the CHIPS and Science Act, Purdue launched its Semiconductor Degrees Program, the nation’s most ambitious large-scale semiconductor workforce development program. Now, we’re ready to build on the overwhelming response from Purdue students by working with partners to provide students across the country with the chance to prepare for a career in semiconductors. Join us to learn more about these exciting opportunities!
