The Purdue Student Chapter of the Optical Society of America (OSA) will host Thomas E. Murphy (Director of IREAP, University of Maryland) and Gaurav Bahl (University of Illinois) as part of the IONS (International OSA Network of Students) Midwest 2018 Conference, which will be co-hosted by Purdue and the University of Dayton. Murphy and Bahl will deliver plenary talks and participate in a Q&A session with students.
The events at Purdue will be held at the Burton D. Morgan Center for Entrepreneurship on August 2 and 3. The second half of the conference will follow at the University of Dayton. The multidisciplinary conference on research in optics and photonics will also feature talks from student researchers, poster sessions and networking events with industry.
Registration for the conference, which is supported in part by the College of Engineering, is free for Purdue students and closes on July 19.
