Global Opportunities Fair 2006

Priority: No
College Calendar: Show

The Global Opportunities Fair is a unique event that brings together Global Corporations and Study and Work Abroad organizations to present the different options they offer to our students on the West Lafayette Campus. The fair will be held on Friday, October 27, 2006 at the Engineering Mall and MSEE Atrium of Purdue University.

"As future engineers and professionals, we need to be ready for global and cultural exchanges with all kinds of people, and we realize that we need to be able to define and solve problems from an international perspective," said Francisco Montalvo, a mechanical engineering junior from Quito, Ecuador, and the student chapter vice president for the alliance. "The fair is not just for engineering majors but for all students. It will give students the opportunity to personally talk with representatives from international companies."

The Purdue student chapter of the Global Engineering Alliance for Research and Education, or GEARE, is coordinating the event, which is expected to draw about 200 students.

In addition to the exhibits from the participating companies and organizations, seminars will be held during the week of Oct. 23. The seminars will provide internship and employment opportunities and other details about study- and work-abroad programs.
