Ivantysynova elected ASME fellow

Monika Ivantysynova, the Maha Fluid Power Systems Professor in the School of Mechanical Engineering, has been elected as a fellow of ASME, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

The election citation states that Ivantysynova "is an international renown expert and scientist in fluid power technology. She has an excellent academic record with outstanding contributions to the field of fluid power. She has established one of the world's best Center for Fluid Power Research and Education, the Maha Fluid Power Research Center at Purdue University. Her research in the area of piston pumps and motors has revealed several discoveries about the fundamental behavior of the fluid film in these systems. She has successfully developed new technologies like displacement-controlled actuation and hydraulic hybrids, which both have the potential to revolutionize the fluid power industry."
