I became an engineer because I wanted to solve problems faced by my community. As a Black engineer, I know the environment Black people live in. I wanted to bring relevant solutions to local problems. That’s why I focus on designing sustainable processes that inherently account for environmental impact. I plan to train more Black engineers to help come up with solutions to mitigate the impact of climate change on Black communities.
