Biography

Tyler Lamar is a Senior majoring in Industrial Engineering with a Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. He is currently the Co-Executive Director of Diversity and Inclusion for Purdue Student Government, the President of The Gamma Rho Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., is the Co-Chair of the ""A Voteless People is a Hopeless People"" Committee for the Indiana district of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and is involved with the Office of Diversity & Inclusion for Purdue. In the past, he has been the Region IV Academic Excellence Chair for the National Society of Black Engineers, a senator for Shreve Dormitory, an aerodynamics team member for Formula SAE, and the secretary for the Purdue NSBE chapter. While in these positions and organizations, he has been able to receive numerous awards and honors from winning competitions to being named a Forbes Under 30 Scholar. In 2019, he interned with Ingersoll Rand as a manufacturing engineer and this past summer, he interned with Cummins as a purchasing intern.
