Dr S. Sohail H. Naqvi
Dr. S. Sohail H. Naqvi earned his bachelor’s, master’s, and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Purdue University in 1984, 1986, and 1988, respectively. He is the CEO of Knowledge Streams, which provides streamlined opportunities for youth to be gainfully employed in critical economic sectors.
Before that, Naqvi was the founding Rector of the University of Central Asia. He served as Vice Chancellor of the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), spearheading the institution's transition into the top-ranked research university in Pakistan.
Naqvi was also the Executive Director of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) for eight years, where he oversaw the implementation of programs that resulted in explosive growth in research activity in the universities in Pakistan, quadrupling the number of students, standardization of programs at the undergraduate and postgraduate level, along with the implementation of a comprehensive higher education quality assurance regime. He has also consulted on higher education for the Asian Development Bank and World Bank. Naqvi was awarded the Order of the ‘Palmes Académiques’ with the rank of Chevalier by the French Government, and the Sitar-e-Imtiaz by the Government of Pakistan for his services to higher education..
