Mr. Mamoon Hamid earned a BS in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University in 1997. He is a General Partner at Kleiner Perkins (KPCB). Hamid has 15 years of experience in building and investing in high growth technology businesses. He primarily invests in business and consumer services software companies.


Hamid is one of the earliest investors in some of the most innovative software companies of recent times including Slack, Box, Yammer, Intercom, Netskope and Figma. Prior to joining Kleiner Perkins, he was a Co-Founder and General Partner at Social Capital, a venture campital fund based in Palo Alto, CA. Hamid was also a Partner at U.S. Venture Partners (USVP), where he spent six years. He started his Silicon Valley career at Xilinx, where he spent six years in various engineering and marketing roles.

Hamid also holds an MS from Stanford University and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
