Matthew E. Massengill is executive vice president and general manager of the Personal Storage Group, Western Digital Corporation. Based in Irvine, California, Western Digital Corporation is a leader in information storage products and services. Massengill is responsible for all worldwide hard drive operations including research, development, manufacturing and marketing of its line of WD hard drives. The Personal Storage Division employs more than 11,000 in California, Singapore and Malaysia. Massengill previously served as senior vice president, general manager, of the Enterprise Storage Group, which employs 1,800 people in Minnesota and in a high-volume manufacturing facility in Singapore.

After receiving his BSEE from Purdue in 1983, Massengill worked as a research engineer at Ford Aerospace and Communications Corporation developing materials and devices for infra detectors and imaging systems. In 1985 he joined Western Digital as a product engineer and has held various engineering and marketing positions including that of vice president of marketing for the Personal Storage Division. Under his direction the Personal Storage Division grew from a small supplier of hard drives to the largest global supplier of drives in the desktop personal computer market.

Massengill serves on the board of directors of the US Bank in Rochester and the board of the Greater Rochester Area University Center and, since becoming executive vice president, has returned to California.
