Dr. Laila R. Razouk

Vice President and General Manager Network Products Division
Advanced Micro Devices

Laila R. Razouk
When I was 11 years old, I decided that what I really wanted to do was to study to be an engineer! It's been an exciting, fast paced, challenging and fun journey.

Laila R. Razouk completed her bachelor's degree at Cairo University in Egypt and then entered Purdue where she completed her Master's degree in 1974 and her doctorate in 1977. Upon completing her studies at Purdue, she joined Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) and held various technical and supervisory positions, developing several successful DRAM and SRAM products.

In 1983 Razouk was named department manager in the CMOS Custom Products Division where she established a design and software team and pioneered the CMOS block compiler library effort to reduce development cycle time. In 1989 she joined the Network Products Division as the design and program manager of the Ethernet controller family, and in 1993 she became the business unit director responsible for developing and marketing Network Infrastructure Products. She was named vice president of the Network Products Division in 1997. In her position as vice president and general manager, she is responsible for development and marketing of network products such as Ethernet controls that reside inside the node and network infrastructure products such as repeaters, switches, and transceivers.

Razouk is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Society of Women Engineers. She has served on the Purdue University Engineering Visiting Committee since 1994.
