Four Engineering professors among world’s most influential researchers
Each year since 2002, Web of Science has presented a list recognizing research scientists who have demonstrated significant and broad influence in a chosen field or fields through the publication of multiple papers – highly cited by their peers – during the past decade. The Highly Cited Researchers 2019 global list was released on November 19, 2019, and included these Purdue Engineering faculty members:
- Vladimir M. Shalaev, the Bob and Anne Burnett Distinguished Professor of electrical and computer engineering, was recognized for his impact in the field of Physics.
- Peide “Peter” Ye, the Richard J. and Mary Jo Schwartz professor of electrical and computer engineering, was recognized for cross-field impact.
- Letian Dou, assistant professor of chemical engineering, was recognized for cross-field impact.
- Kinam Park, the Showalter Distinguished Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Pharmacy, was recognized for pharmacology and toxicology.
The Web of Science list identifies scientists and social scientists who produced multiple papers ranking in the top 1% by citations for their field and year of publication, demonstrating significant research influence among their peers. The methodology that determines the "who's who" of influential researchers draws on the data and analysis performed by bibliometric experts from the Institute for Scientific Information at the Web of Science Group.
