College of Engineering Staff Long-Term Impact Award

Award Recipient: Plaque, $2,000. (maximum of two awards given annually)

Eligibility Groups

Purpose: The purpose of this award is to recognize a staff member who has made a positive impact on a unit within the College, or the College of Engineering itself over a long period of time.

Eligibility: The award is open to all staff who have made significant long-term contributions to the advancement and success to a unit of the College, or the College of Engineering itself. Eligible individuals will have served in an Engineering-servicing role, most recently within the last year. Members of the Deans Staff Advisory Committee (DSAC) are not eligible to be nominated for awards while they serve on the committee. Up to two award recipients may be recognized annually. The award may not be given to the same individual more than once. The following criteria should be considered when submitting the nomination:

Criteria:

  • Consistently performed at a level which is above and beyond what is expected to create a positive difference; supporting a unit within the College, or the College of Engineering itself, over a period of no less than ten (10) years. 
  • The product of the individual’s work has had a long-lasting impact on the success of the unit and or the College of Engineering. 
  • The staff person may be a current or former employee of the College of Engineering, Purdue University, Purdue for Life, or Purdue Research Foundation. 

Procedures:

  • Up to two awards may be given annually.
  • Candidates may be nominated by any faculty or staff member in the College of Engineering or Purdue University, Purdue for Life, or Purdue Research Foundation.
  • If multiple nominations for one employee are received, the nominators will be contacted and asked to collaborate in order to submit one nomination package.
  • Selections will be made by the Dean’s Staff Advisory Committee.
  • Each award recipient will receive a cash award of $2,000, an individual plaque, and will be honored during the annual staff awards banquet.

Materials to be submitted for the nomination:

  • Nomination Package Coversheet: Completed and signed by the nominator and nominee's supervisor.
  • Attached Documentation:
    • ​Nominator's Letter: Not exceeding two pages, providing specific examples and how the nominee's career in engineering has exemplified the award criteria (basis for nomination).
    • Letters of Support (3): Three letters, not longer than one page each, addressing the nominee's qualifications and contributions, to be incorporated directly into the nomination file.
