Alejandro Strachan

Alejandro Strachan

Assistant Professor of Materials Engineering

Dr. Alejandro Strachan was a Technical Staff Member in the Theoretical Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory from 2002 to August 2005. His background is in molecular modeling of advanced materials. He received a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1998 and conducted postdoctoral research in the Materials Process Simulation Center at California Institute of Technology from 1999 to 2002.

Dr. Strachan's research revolves around developing methods to predict how materials behave using computer simulations and applying these methods to a wide range of materials. He focuses on atomistic and mesoscale modeling of condensed-phase chemistry, active materials and nanotechnology and mechanical properties of structural materials.
