This weeks presentation by Aashish Poudel is titled: Characterizing Thermal Emission From High-Temperature Radiators. High-temperature application materials are crucial for the future of the technological revolution. From increasing efficiency in energy harvesting to building thermal barrier coatings, materials that can withstand the impacts of high temperatures, and stay functionally, physically and chemically stable will become the fundamental building blocks in these fields. In this talk, Aashish will discuss theoretical and experimental endeavors in characterizing and optimizing materials' optical and thermal properties at ultra-high temperatures.
