Students in Purdue University's Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering showcased their innovation and engineering prowess during the biannual SPARK Challenge, a design competition that bridges classroom learning with real-world application.

David Gallagher, a graduate of Purdue University’s Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, has been named the next director of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL).

The Rayl sisters, born and raised in Franklin outside Indianapolis, both study computer engineering at the Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering and are members of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Purdue section in Indianapolis.

Prof. Michael R. Melloch has been recognized for the third time with the Class of 1922 Helping Students Learn Award. The honor, which celebrates outstanding innovation in teaching and learning, was awarded to Melloch for his pioneering course and companion book "Keys to Learning: Unlocking Your Brain's Potential."

Patent-pending imaging technologies developed at Purdue University’s College of Engineering could be commercialized for applications as diverse as medical imaging, autonomous navigation, surveillance, microscopy, and advanced manufacturing.

The Catapult hackathon, now in its second year, is organized by the ML@Purdue student club and drew significant corporate sponsorship. Approximately 200 student contestants, primarily from the Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Department of Computer Science, participated in the student-run event.

For the seventh consecutive year, Purdue University’s Beta Chapter of IEEE-HKN has been named an Outstanding Chapter—a prestigious honor awarded by the IEEE-Eta Kappa Nu Board of Governors to only the most exceptional HKN chapters around the world.
