Mr. David A. Stamm
President and CEO
Clarify Inc.
David A. Stamm, president and CEO of Clarify Inc., is a native Hoosier who graduated with honors from Purdue's School of Electrical Engineering in 1973. Upon graduation Stamm joined Intel as one of the company's first crop of college graduate recruits and created the initial concept specification and design for the first single chipmicroprocessor, the Intel 8748 family. By 1980 Stamm already had been promoted to department manager- the youngest in the company - and managed a group of engineers responsible for the development and maintenance of Intel's mid-range microprocessor family.
In 1980, Stamm left Intel to found Daisy Systems, a new company that quickly became a leader in the emerging computer-aided engineering (CAE) field. Daisy grew rapidly and by 1985 had more than 1,000 employees. As executive vice president of the company, Stamm managed the engineering efforts for the comapny's first products and later led the marketing and sales for the CAE division.
In 1990, Dave founded a second company, Clarify, which has quickly become a market leader in providing software to corporations to improve the operations of their sales and customer support functions. Clarify products include applications for sales and marketing, customer service, defect tracking, and help desks-essential areas to control in order to maximize customer service and loyalty. Founded with the help of major Silicon Valley venture firms, Clarify went public in 1995 and now services industry leaders such as MCI, Microsoft, GE, Georgia-Pacific, Hewlett-Packard, Amoco, and Cisco.
