Isaac Damilare Dunmoye

Isaac Damilare Dunmoye received his bachelor’s degree in agricultural biosystems engineering from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria, in 2016, his master’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, in 2022, and now is pursuing his PhD in engineering education and transformative practices at the University of Georgia (UGA). For his dissertation, he is examining students’ experiences while learning engineering concepts in virtual reality (VR) environments. His work has produced two book chapters, two journal articles, and nine conference papers. Dunmoye’s future lab will create and propagate evidence-based strategies for designing inclusive, culturally relevant online and virtual learning activities that can easily be used by engineering instructors and practitioners. His goal is to help educators broaden participation in engineering through learning environments that make students feel empowered to join in and contribute to discussions, projects, and collaborative activities. With the UGA international orientation meet-up group, he helps new students navigate campus and the community by conducting tours, driving them to acquire household items, and even providing a temporary living space. As a faculty member, he is committed to providing students with hands-on, experiential learning opportunities that bridge the gap between theory and practice. He aims to cultivate a classroom atmosphere that fosters innovation, critical thinking, and a deep sense of social responsibility.
