Xiaoqian Joy Wang

Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering

Dr. Wang received her bachelor’s degree in bioinformatics from Zhejiang University, China, and her Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh. She has served as a program committee member for several events, including International Conference on Machine Learning (ICML), Conference on Neural Information Processing Systems (NeurlPS), and the 2020 Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition.

Her research focuses on machine learning and biomedical data science. She is especially interested in improving the explainability, fairness, and robustness of machine learning. She also works on the early diagnosis of chronic diseases via interpretable and high-performing model.
