Jeffrey Mayer

Professor of Engineering Practice in Electrical and Computer Engineering

Dr. Mayer holds bachelor’s, master’s and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Purdue. Prior to joining the Purdue faculty, he was an associate professor at Virginia Tech and Penn State, where he also worked in the Applied Research Laboratory in the Fluid Dynamics Department.

His research interests include power and energy systems, electrical machinery, drive systems and energy conversion and controls. His work has been supported by grants from the Office of Naval Research, the Naval Surfaces Warfare Center and the National Science Foundation.
