Christopher Brinton

Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering

Dr. Brinton earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the College of New Jersey and his master’s degree and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Princeton University. He previously was the associate director of the EDGE Lab and a lecturer of electrical engineering at Princeton. He is the co-founder of the big data startup Zoomi Inc. and the co-author of the book The Power of Networks: Six Principles That Connect Our Lives.

His research is at the intersection of data science and networking. His group develops data-driven optimization methodologies for communication and social networks, with a particular emphasis on distributed edge intelligence. He investigates contemporary network architectures, including fog computing systems, IoT, social learning networks (SLN), and foundational techniques, such as convex and non-convex optimization, machine learning and signal processing.
