Alexander Kildishev
Associate Professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering
Alexander Kildishev received his M.S.E.E. in 1983 from Kharkov Polytechnical Institute, Ukraine, and his Ph.D. in 1996 from Kharkov Polytechnical Institute/Institute for Electrodynamics, National Academy of Sciences, Ukraine.
Before joining Purdue, Dr. Kildishev was working as the Head of Laboratory at the Magnetism Division of the National Academy of Sciences in the Ukraine. He has had a number of breakthrough results on negative refractive index metamaterials, optical artificial magnetic structures, loss compensation in metamaterials, plasmonic nanolasers and optical metasurfaces, as well as the theory and numerical models of optical cloaks, and hyperlenses. He has participated in more than 100 invited seminar talks and conference presentations. Dr. Kildishev is a co-inventor of 10 issued and pending patents (4 US), and a co-author of 7 software online simulation tools. He is a senior member of SPIE and IEEE (IEEE Photonics and Magnetic Societies), and a member of OSA, SIAM, and ACES.
