Michael C. Loui

Dale and Suzi Gallagher Professor of Engineering Education

Michael C. Loui earned his Ph.D. from MIT in 1980. Before joining Purdue as the inaugural Dale and Suzi Gallagher Professor of Engineering Education, he served on the faculty at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he also served as associate dean of the graduate college. Previously, Loui directed the theory of computing program at the National Science Foundation.

Loui’s research interests include computational complexity theory, professional ethics, and engineering education. He is a Carnegie Scholar and an IEEE Fellow.

He serves as editor for the Journal of Engineering Education, as well as a member of the editorial boards of College Teaching and Accountability in Research.
