Assistant Professor of Engineering Education

Şenay Purzer received her bachelor’s degree in physics education from Hacettepe University, Turkey, and master’s and PhD degrees in science education from Arizona State University (ASU). Prior to her appointment at Purdue, Dr. Purzer worked as a research associate at ASU’s Center for Research on Education in Science, Mathematics, Engineering, and Technology (CRESMET) on the Bringing Engineering and Education Project. Her research focuses on collaborative team learning and the role of engineering self-efficacy on student achievement. She is also interested in how engineering students build communities-of-practice as they design and learn together.
