Ming Qu
Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering
Dr. Ming Qu received her B.S. in civil engineering from Dalian University of Technology in Dalian, China. She worked at the Beijing Design Institute, SINOPEC, for five years as a structural engineer. She then received her Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University. Her dissertation work used experiments, mathematical models, and system simulations to investigate the technical aspects of using high-temperature solar thermal receivers driving a two-stage absorption chiller to cool and heat a building space.
Dr. Qu's research and teaching are in the areas of solar cooling and heating systems, energy efficiency and sustainable building design, building control systems, building energy supply systems, thermal analyses, building system modeling, and advanced building system integration dedicated to sustainable and healthy built environments.
