Dr. Kartik Ariyur received his B.S. from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, in 1996. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. in 1999 and 2002 respectively from the University of California, San Diego. As an intern, Dr. Ariyur worked at the United Technologies Research Center on control of combustion instabilities and at Qualcomm on the design of adaptive and nonlinear filters for wireless signal processing. He was a senior research scientist Honeywell Labs in Minneapolis from 2002 to 2008, where he worked on health monitoring, obstacle avoidance, hybrid system verification, GPS receivers and GPS-denied navigation, and integrated surveillance.

Dr. Ariyur has approximately 30 patents pending. He has also authored eight journal publications and several conference publications. He is a technical editor for the International Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing and served on the program committees of the 2008 American Control Conference and Hybrid Systems: Computation and Control in 2006. He received a best paper award at the SAE Power Systems Conference in 2004.
