His research has resulted in the Stroboscope simulation language, which is extensively used both in academia and industry worldwide, and in the Vitascope 3D animation system, which enables temporally and spatially accurate visualization of simulated construction operations.
Dr. Martinez' recognitions include NSF Career and Information Technology Research awards and a best paper award from the American Society of Civil Engineers for a publication in the Journal of Computing in Civil Engineering. He currently serves as vice-chair of the ASCE's Construction Research Council (CRC) and will be the chairing the CRC during 2008.
