Nan Kong

Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering

Dr. Nan Kong received his Ph.D. from the Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh.

Prior to his appointment at Purdue, Dr. Kong was an assistant professor in the Department of Industrial and Management Systems Engineering at the University of South Florida, in Tampa, Florida. His research interests include health systems engineering, data-driven modeling in medical decision making, stochastic optimization, and computational discrete optimization.

Dr. Kong received an honorable mention for the Dantzig Doctoral Dissertation Award, given by the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS). He also received the Pritzker Doctoral Dissertation Award, given by the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE).
