Preparing for Graduate School Virtual Info Session

The Office of Graduate Admissions will be hosting another virtual information session for prospective students on the topic of “Preparing for Graduate School”. Presentation topics will include funding your graduate education and the graduate application process. Participants that register and attend the entire information session will qualify to receive a Purdue Graduate School application fee waiver. This is a great opportunity for competitive international applicants who are experiencing economic hardship to qualify for an application fee waiver.

UMBC Meyerhoff Scholars Career Connection

The Meyerhoff Scholars Program is at the forefront of efforts to increase diversity among future leaders in science, technology, engineering and related fields. The UMBC Meyerhoff family is now more than 1600 strong, with over 1400 alumni across the nation and 245 students enrolled at UMBC. Over 300 graduates are currently pursuing graduate and professional degrees in STEM fields.

Early Discovery 2022

The Early Discovery program is to empower promising underrepresented students at the freshman and sophomore levels to pursue research-intensive graduate study. Participants will learn from pre-watch materials and come to Early Discovery prepared to engage with presenters and other participants. There will also be many live sessions and poster presentations. This program is free and online.

Purdue Engineering GradTrack (program up and running, invite only)

GradTrack is an online program that prepares underrepresented undergraduate students (sophomore to seniors) from any U.S. institution for Graduate School. As a GradTrack Scholar, you are expected to attend 8 online meetings (4 in Fall 2021 and 4 in Spring 2022) and participate in monthly assignments. Meetings are on Monday evenings. You will have exclusive networking with current Purdue Graduate Students and, whether you are applying to graduate school or summer research opportunities, will finish the program with completed documents for a competitive application.
