Boilermaker Circuit, a career fair held exclusively for students in the Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, recently drew 45 representatives from 16 Corporate Partner companies and more than 500 students.

Milind Kulkarni, Interim Head of Purdue ECE addressed the representatives and the students.

“This kind of dedicated recruiting event is very useful for our students and our Corporate Partners,” said Kulkarni. “Our School is the largest ECE program in the country, and this career fair is just one way we provide quality education and training to our students at this large scale.”

Saurabh Bagchi, Professor of ECE and Director of the ECE Corporate Partners Program, shared the existing and new program elements of the Program.

“The first pillar of the program is recruiting, with 4 group recruiting events throughout the academic year plus many individualized, company-specific recruiting events,” said Bagchi. “The other two pillars are engagement by our Partners in the classroom and with our faculty on research.”

Bagchi encouraged the Corporate Partners to engage even more with ECE students through company-specific recruiting, of which there are 2-5 each month, and Tech Talks.

The day ended with a dinner for the Corporate Partner representatives, along with students from the ECE Ambassadors program, who volunteered at the event, and staff from the Corporate Partners Program.

The next group recruiting event is the Spark Challenge, which happens April 25-26. The Spark Challenge is a two-day campus-wide, corporate-sponsored design competition.

The following companies participated in the in-person Boilermaker Circuit. This is a subset of the 35 that are currently a part of the Program. There is also an option for corporations to pay a one-time fee and attend a single recruiting event.
