Flex Lab director, ECE alumnus named 2022 NSPE Fellow
David Kish, director of Flex Lab and Kepner Laboratories at Purdue, was recently named a Fellow of the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) with the Indiana Society of Professional Engineers (ISPE) bestowing the honor concurrently. The Fellow membership honors NSPE members who have demonstrated exemplary and devoted service to the profession, the Society, and their communities. Kish was one of eight PEs nationwide named as an NSPE Fellow this year.
Kish received bachelor’s, masters and PhD degrees in electrical engineering from Purdue and also earned an MBA degree from the university. At Purdue he worked in a number of positions in the Physical Facilities organization before assuming his current position at Flex Lab, a 50,000 square foot engineering laboratory hosting more than 30 research groups from 17 schools and over 450 people.
“I am humbled and honored that my peers thought enough of my professional and volunteer service to nominate me for consideration as an NSPE Fellow, and grateful that the NSPE Fellows committee affirmed my nomination,” Kish said. “I am proud to be a Purdue engineering graduate and happy to have the opportunity to work at Flex Lab and Kepner Laboratories to make them good homes for those conducting research.”
Kish has been a member of the Board of Directors of ISPE since 2013 holding numerous positions including president. He is a current member of the NSPE Board of Ethical Review and the Indiana Delegate to the NSPE House of Delegates, serves on the ISPE Education Foundation, and is a frequent contributor to the Indiana Professional Engineers Journal.
