ECE students receive honorable mentions in CRA Outstanding Undergraduate Researcher Award program

Two students from Purdue University’s Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering have earned honorable mentions in the Computing Research Association’s 2022 Outstanding Undergraduate Researcher Award.

Two students from Purdue University’s Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering have earned honorable mentions in the Computing Research Association’s 2022 Outstanding Undergraduate Researcher Award.

Nick Eliopoulis was nominated by Yung-Hsiang Lu, professor of electrical and computer engineering. He is a PhD student and Research Assistant in the Purdue HELPS Laboratory. Eliopoulis is focused on developing energy-efficient computer vision algorithms and software techniques for machine learning.

Vishnu Banna earned a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from Purdue ECE in December 2021. He is currently a Machine Learning Engineer at Apple. Banna is interested in Deep Learning, Computer Vision, and Robotics as it relates to machine autonomy and medical imaging and general medical applications.

The CRA Outstanding Undergraduate Researcher Award program recognizes undergraduate students in North American colleges and universities who show outstanding research potential in an area of computing research.
