ECE PhD student Debayan Das' work recognized as a Top Pick in embedded and hardware security
ECE student Debayan Das paper presented in HOST 2017 has been selected as a “Top Pick” in the field of embedded and hardware security as one of the top 10 papers in the field over the span of last 6 years. The top picks papers were selected from conference and journal papers that have appeared in leading hardware security conferences including but not limited to DAC, DATE, ICCAD, HOST, VLSI Design, CHES, ETS, VTS, ITC, IEEE S&P, Euro S&P, Usenix Security, ASIA CCS, NDSS, ISCA, HASP, MICRO, ASPLOS, HPCA, ACSAC and ACM CCS. This work was also awarded the Best Student Paper at the HOST’17 conference. Debayan is advised by Prof. Shreyas Sen.
The paper titled “High Efficiency Power Side-Channel Attack Immunity using Noise Injection in Attenuated Signature Domain” proposes an energy-efficient solution to protect cryptographic engines against side-channel attacks. A follow-up work on this paper, extending towards Electro-Magnetic Side-Channel-Attack (EM SCA) protection, has also received significant attention in the hardware security community, and was awarded the ‘Best Student Paper’ in HOST 2019.
The talk is scheduled on Nov 7, 2019 and will be presented by Debayan at the Top Picks Workshop co-located with ICCAD 2019.
