Professor Shreyas Sundaram has been selected as a Fellow in the 2016 Air Force Research Lab Summer Faculty Fellowship Program. The program offers hands-on exposure to Air Force research challenges through 8- to 12-week research residencies at participating Air Force research facilities for full-time science, mathematics, and engineering faculty at U.S. colleges and universities.

Professor Sundaram will be working with the Air Force to create secure and fault-tolerant algorithms for distributed decision-making, coordination, and optimization.  He states, "This is a critical problem; as the number and sophistication of cyber-attacks against networked systems continue to increase, security and fault-tolerance must be built into algorithms from the ground-up rather than being tacked on down the line.  The interplay between complex mission objectives, network topologies, system dynamics and sophisticated adversarial behavior poses various challenges for security and reliability that we will be tackling as part of this project."
