Research by Professor Jeffrey Siskind and his group has been showcased in an article "Worth a Thousand Words" in the July/August 2013 issue of Digital Battlespace magazine, which describes the DARPA Mind's Eye program. Siskind is the lead PI on one of the 15 teams funded by that program. The goal is to automatically generate sentences that describe video, combining computer vision with natural-language processing, machine learning, and AI. The article showcases Purdue's contribution towards the Mind's Eye goals as well as additional research conducted within Siskind's group on further integrating robotics with computer vision, natural-language processing, machine learning, and AI.
