A paper titled "Can morphology tailoring improve the open circuit voltage of organic solar cells?" by Professors Ashraful Alam and Mark Lundstrom along with graduate student Biswajit Ray has been selected by the editor of the journal Applied Physics Letters to feature in the Editor's Picks of 2012 as one of the most notable APL articles published in 2012.

Ray states, "In this article we analytically derive the upper limit of the open circuit voltage of organic solar cells. We show that open circuit voltage cannot be improved by morphology engineering, which has profound implication on the design and optimization of these cells."
