Graduate Student Zubin Jacob receives IEEE-LEOS Fellowship for 2009-2010

The Graduate Student Fellowship is awarded annually to 12 students across the globe. Zubin works with Professor Evgenii Narimanov in the field of nano-optics and metamaterials.

ECE Graduate Student Zubin Jacob has received the prestigious IEEE-LEOS Graduate Student Fellowship for the year 2009-2010. This is awarded annually to 12 students across the globe by IEEE-LEOS and consists of a $5000 cash prize, complimentary registration to the IEEE-LEOS annual conference and a $2500 travel grant to attend the IEEE-LEOS conference in Turkey to collect the award. Zubin works with Prof. Evgenii Narimanov in the field of nano-optics and metamaterials. His work focuses on the unique electromagnetic properties of a device called the 'Optical Hyperlens', a far-field subdiffraction imaging system.
