William Bruce “Bill” Elmore received bachelor's and master’s degrees in electrical engineering in 1975 and 1976, respectively. After furthering his education with an MBA from Stanford University, Elmore embarked on a distinguished career. Beginning as president of Visual Engineering, he later transitioned to Inman and Bowman, a prominent venture capital firm, in 1987. There, he delved into Silicon Valley's technology landscape, investing in promising startups. In 1995, Elmore co-founded Foundation Capital, a pivotal player in nurturing companies like Netflix and Chegg. Now an emeritus partner, Elmore remains active in guiding emerging companies. Purdue recognition has included an Outstanding Electrical and Computer Engineer Award in 2003 and a Distinguished Engineering Alumnus Award in 2017. The Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering also bears his name.
