Thomas J. Engibous 

Thomas J. Engibous earned bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering in 1975 and 1976, respectively, and an honorary doctorate in 1997. After graduation, he began his career as a design engineer in the Texas Instruments semiconductor group. Over two decades, he steadily rose through the ranks, being appointed president and CEO in 1996. Two years later, he also assumed the role of chairman of the board. Under Engibous’ leadership, Texas Instruments underwent a strategic transformation from a diversified conglomerate to a focused semiconductor company with a strong global presence. Purdue presented him with a Distinguished Engineering Alumnus Award in 1990.
