Manager of more than one-third of the world’s securities

Peter K. Lambertus earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering in 1967. Following graduation, he served as an officer in the U.S. Navy's nuclear submarine force for five years. Lambertus then joined Stone & Webster Engineering, where he worked as a nuclear systems engineer and later became manager of computer systems development. In 1984, Lambertus founded Charles River Development, a financial services company that eventually managed more than one-third of the world’s assets. He led the company until its acquisition by State Street Corporation in 2018 for $2.6 billion. Purdue recognized Lambertus with a Distinguished Engineering Alumnus Award in 2020. Additionally, Lambertus Hall in Purdue’s Gateway Complex, which opened in 2022, is named after him.
