First female president of the American Society of Civil Engineers

Patricia D. Galloway earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering in 1978 after three years of study. Her career trajectory exemplifies her exceptional talent and leadership in engineering. Beginning at CH2M Hill, a leading engineering firm, Galloway rapidly rose through the ranks, showcasing her expertise as a project engineer. In 1981, she moved to The Nielsen-Wurster Group, where she became chief executive officer in 2001, marking a significant achievement for female leaders. In 2003, Galloway made history again as the first female CEO of the American Society of Civil Engineers, further solidifying her reputation as a trailblazer. Her tenure at the organization underscored her visionary leadership and dedication to advancing the engineering profession.
