Leader of Boeing’s 787-10 Dreamliner creation

Kenneth Sanger graduated with bachelor's and master's degrees in aeronautical and astronautical engineering in 1981 and 1983, respectively. His 35-year career with The Boeing Company culminated in his role overseeing the design, development, production, and certification management of the Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner. As vice president and general manager of 787 Airplane Development, Sanger headed a global team of internal staff and suppliers across North America, Asia, Europe, Russia, and the Middle East for this multi-billion-dollar project. The first 787-10 Dreamliner was delivered to Singapore Airlines on March 25, 2018. As of Dec. 31, 2023, there have been orders for 266 Boeing 787-10 airplanes, with 96 delivered. Purdue honored Sanger with a Distinguished Engineering Alumnus Award in 2019.
